Why Sizes Vary Between Brands
Unlike adult clothing, children's sizing isn't standardised in India. One brand's 2 Years may fit a child the size of a 3-year-old at another brand. The safest approach is always to check the brand's specific size chart — which is why we publish ours clearly at yobabyindia.in/pages/size-chart.
Indian vs International Sizing
If you're shopping from a brand that also sells internationally, be aware that Indian and Western children of the same age are often different sizes. Indian children, on average, tend to be slightly smaller framed at equivalent ages — but this varies enormously by child.
The Golden Rule: Size Up
For all Yo Baby styles, we recommend sizing up if you're between sizes. Our clothing is designed with a relaxed, comfortable fit that allows for movement. Sizing up gives extra room to grow and ensures the fit isn't restrictive.
Measure, Don't Guess
The most reliable way to choose the right size is to measure your child. You need two measurements: height (head to heel, standing straight) and chest (around the fullest part of the chest). Cross-reference these against the size chart for a much more accurate fit than going by age alone.
When to Order Bigger
If you're buying a gift, or buying in advance for an upcoming event, always order at least one size bigger than you think you need. Children grow quickly and a slightly larger fit looks far better than one that's too small.
